iSpy.. A Good Taylor Swift Song?

Well, this is my first ever blog. Wow. Pretty darn amazing if I do say so myself.. Thing is I thought I would try it because sometimes I just need to vent and this seems like a modern way of doing things!
Well, as the title says- I think I can relate to a Taylor Swift song pretty strongly. Also- please understand that just because I say I like one of her songs doesn't make me the anti-christ. Come on. I am one of the vast majority of 16 year olds who says "Oh my god yeah I totally hate Taylor Swift!" and who is actually standing there with one of her songs on repeat thinking 'I wish I was Taylor Swift.. Successful.. Pretty.. And I so GET everything she sings about!'. So yeah- I know i'm not the only one who thinks that. You know who you are! Anyway, back to what I was saying..
The lucky song that I have chosen is (Drum roll please-) "You belong with me". It is currently playing in a tab on youtube.com as I type (which by the way, quick thought for youtubers out there- why isn't there a repeat button on youtube?! it's so annoying to keep clicking and rewinding or replaying. Just saying...). So, I said I related to this song and I do. Really.
Why? Because like most 16 year old hormonal girls (I hope) I suffer from the painful ache of "That Guy" liking the wrong person, the right person obviously being you. Side effects include hours of "I'm so fat/ugly", looking in the mirror poking at self and drastic diets of "okay I just won't eat anything" (which by the way, last until we get hungry). So, back to the situation.. "The Guy" is being a poo head and is not liking me like I like him. It's not like he doesn't know I exist, because he does. He is very much aware of me, we're really close friends and I'm so happy about that. But it's just it's because we're such close friends he feels he can tell me when he likes this other girl. So I'm sitting on MSN happily enjoying my evening when said message appears:
"The Guy": So do you think "Wrong Person" likes me?
"Right Person": Huh?
"The Guy": Well.. I kinda like her..
Of course being a mature, sophisticated young woman I did the mature thing.
Slammed laptop shut and spent an hour in front of the mirror saying "Oh my god I'm obese"
On a bright side It's not like the "Wrong Person" is one of my BEST friends. But there is not bright side to this tragic love story (which by the way I'm convinced will end well if I just act exactly the same and don't tell anyone), because said "Wrong Person" is one of my best friends.
And it sucks because I find myself thinking 'Why?! You have all these boys liking you- why can't you just let me have this one?' or on a worser day- 'You are so wrong for him! You don't even know half the stuff I do about him!'
But the icing on the cake is... "Wrong Person" likes "The Guy" back! Major catastrophe. Seriously. It's like a frigging earthquake over here. Because lucky old me has to play the person in the middle. "Of course he likes you back!" 'Why, I don't know...'; "Yeah you should totally ask her out!" 'Please no please no please no please no'.
Well I don't there is anything I can do but listen to good ole' Taylor and hope that what happens in the music video (By the way she gets with "The Guy") happens to me too.
Ha.

  2. If you "kinda like" Taylor Swift, check out Nanci Griffith...a Texas gal with a guitar and a knack for putting words together. She is older than me, but has a universal appeal. Also, she has a following in the UK.

    Hope you check her out.
